Using Tumblr

Over the past few weeks, I’ve watched as Jim Whimpey first started a new Tumblr-based blog, then decided to move permanently from WordPress. He mentions in his second post about how Tumblr is “the joy that I didn’t know I’d lost in blogging”. Based on this, I’ve decided to check it out for myself and, although I promised myself I wasn’t going to switch from WordPress to Tumblr, I have to say that posting to Tumblr seems a whole lot more streamlined and fun than posting here.

So, for the next month, I’m officially putting WordPress on probation and testing out Tumblr on a less-casual basis. I’ll be attempting to post at least once per-day with any sort of media, mainly focusing on links, photos and music. I’m also going to attempt to post some longer posts both here and on PTL, to see which better suits my longer articles of writing. Of course, I consider this blog post to be a medium-sized post, yet it is only a couple of hundred words, so it’s possible that Tumblr will suit my writing better. If I end up moving, I’m considering grabbing a new domain name, as this one is starting to get a little tired and I’m getting sick of its irrelevancy.

In a month’s time, I’ll hopefully be able to decide on whether to keep this blog or to switch. Hopefully, I’ll be able to discover the joy of Tumblr myself.
